                                     2. Bugs Fixed in this Release

This version of software fixes 4 bugs in the previous release.

1. When connected to the Internet using PPPoE, if the PPPoE Idle timer expired, the user could not regain access to the Internet.

2. After a time, some users were experiencing slow throughput.

3. IPSec Passthrough
The 1st PC on the LAN that used IPSec Passthrough was able to access the WAN correctly. When this 1st PC had finished, the tunnel closed which is correct operation. Then, if any other PC on the LAN tried to use IPSec Passthrough it couldn't. This version of software allows any PC on the LAN to use IPSec Passthrough.

4. MSN Messenger
Netmeeting is an existing feature in the Gateway that works correctly as a stand alone feature. When Netmeeting is run through an MSN Messenger connection it was not possible to have voice, video and ftp. Only chat. This version of software allows you to use Netmeeting voice, video and ftp through a MSN connection.

                                    3. Recommendations when using this release

Follow the Installation Guide for the OfficeConnect Cable/DSL Gateway.

For ease of use and installation, it is recommended that the OfficeConnect Cable/DSL Gateway
is used as a DHCP Server. This is the default configuration for the Gateway.

In the interests of security, the administration password should be changed from the default setting.

                                    4. Known problems with this release

The PPPoE connection idle time-out is ineffective, when the Gateway is unable to find an NTP
Server. The Gateway will maintain the PPPoE connection until an NTP Server is found.

Recent configuration changes may not be saved if the Gateway is power cycled. Users should
wait 30 seconds before power cycling the Gateway. This is not an issue when applying a
software reset from the Gateway menu.

Special Applications with overlapping ports may not be defined within the menu.

Small delays may occur when initially running Email or FTP applications. This is caused when
the applications are connecting to UNIX servers that send an AUTH request back to the
application. An AUTH Virtual Server to a LAN side PC will resolve this problem.

Special Applications have a 5 minute time-out period. A second user will have to wait 5 minutes
after the first user has finished with the Special Application before they may use it.
