2. About This Software
===============================================================================
3Com Network Jack Configuration Manager provides powerful yet easy-to-use
management for the 3Com NJ220 Network Jacks. The Local Configuration Manager
allows you to initially configure an NJ220 on your network. The Central
Configuration Manager enables advanced configuration and management of multiple
NJ220 devices from a remote management console. An intuitive user interface
focuses on the tasks and information network managers need in order to control
their NJ220 devices. A discovery wizard finds Network Jack devices on your
network and presents the findings in a simple tabular user interface. The
Location Mapping functionality (patent pending) allows you to easily identify
the physical location of the Network Jacks, as well as the machines connected
to the Network Jacks on your network. Additionally, You can configure multiple
Network Jacks with a single configuration operation. The NJ220 Network Jack can
be managed with a Web Configuration Manager. The Web Configuration Manager is
similar to the Central Configuration Manager. You can discover and manage one
or more NJ220 network jacks from any web-enabled computer in your network.
For information on installing Web Configuration Manager software and enabling
that capability on the NJ220 Network Jack, consult the User Guide.
