INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING THE NETWORK JACK CONFIGURATION MANAGER SOFTWARE

1. Uninstall the previous version (if any) of the Configuration Manager:
a. Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel
b. Double-click 'Add/Remove Programs'
c. In the 'Add/Remove Programs' dialog box, choose to remove '3Com Network Jack Configuration Software.'

2. Double-click setup.exe to start the installation of Version 1.0.2 of the Configuration Manager.

3. Follow the instructions in the installation program to install the Network Jack Configuration Manager software on your PC.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPGRADING THE FIRMWARE OF ONE OR MORE NJ200 NETWORK JACKS

1. Save the nj102.bin file into a directory on your computer.

2. Start the Network Jack Central Configuration Manager (CCM).
Select Start->Programs->3Com Network Jack->Central Configuration Manager. Alternatively, double-click the 'NJ200 Central Config Mgr' icon on your desktop.

3. Make sure that the CCM has discovered the NJ200 Network Jacks whose firmware you want to upgrade. For more information on discovering Network Jacks using the CCM, do one of the following:
a. See page 25 of the User Guide.
b. From the CCM main menu, select Help->Contents, and then read the 'Discovering NJ200 Devices' help topic.

3. From the CCM, select the Network Jacks to upgrade, and then follow the steps described in the documentation. To access the relevant documentation, do one of the following:
a. See page 40 of the User Guide.
b. From the CCM main menu, select Help->Contents, and then read the 'Upgrading NJ200 Firmware' help topic.

FILE DESCRIPTIONS

1. setup.exe - A self-extracting EXE program that will install the Network Jack Configuration Manager software on your PC.
2. UserGuide.pdf - The user guide for the configuration manager software. This guide is installed on your PC when you install the configuration software.
3. nj102.bin - Version 1.0.2 of the NJ200 firmware. You can upgrade the firmware using the Central Configuration Manager.
4. RN.txt - The release notes for Version 1.0.2 of the configuration software.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
