Cable Diagnostic Utility
Objective of this cable diagnostic utility is to provide users a easy way to diagnose
the cable. This cable diagnostic utility provides some services as follows:
(1) Fault-free cable length estimation: to detect length of good cable in meters based on average electrical length of four pairs.
(2) Cable fault type identification: to detect the cable fault condition, which is open, short, or short-between-pairs for each one of the four pairs within the cable bundle.
(3) Cable fault distance estimation: to detect the distance along cable in meters from the local end to the location of fault.

Users just need to run CDiagUtil.exe, then click the button ¡§Cable Diag¡¨. You will see the testing results: cable status and cable length.
On the utility, you can also see some information about NIC, for example, SiS Ethernet Host Controller(MAC) identify, base address (memory and I/O base address) , and IRQ number. You can also see the PHY identify on the form.
