HP Enhanced English Keyboard driver for Jornada 690 US English option (README File) This is the HP Enhanced English Keyboard driver for Jornada 690 US English option (for North America, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand only). This version fixes a minor bug that disables the Caps Lock after pressing the Fn key. To install: 1. Connect the Jornada to the desktop PC using Windows CE Services or ActiveSync. If you have not created a partnership or connected your Jornada with the desktop PC, please refer to the Jornada User's Guide for instructions. 2. Copy the driver KEYBDDR.DLL to /Windows folder on the mobile device. 5. A "Confirm File Replace" window will prompt if you want to replace the existing file. Select "Yes". 6. Disconnect the device from the desktop PC. 7. Perform a soft reset on the Jornada by pressing the reset button. Note: You will need to re-install it again if a hard reset is performed on the device. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
