How to install this driver for the Philips PCRW464 USB External:

For: The PCRW464 External with USB interface and with 4x Write 4x ReWrite and 6x Read speeds.
Operating systems: Microsoft Windows 98, Millenium, 2000 and XP.

You have already USB drivers for the external installed:

1. Go with Explorer to C:\Temp\Philips External USB v108
2. Start in Explorer DriverRemove.exe from this place.
3. Tick "Remove Freecom USB drivers"
4. Press Start, Finish and again Finish.
5. The computer will reboot now.
6. The New Hardware Wizard will pop up.
7. Follow the instructions from the Add New Hardware wizard.
   If the Wizard does not find the drivers by itself, choose the location 
   C:\Temp\Philips External USB v108
   in "Specify a location".
8. The drivers will be installed.

You have no USB drivers for the external installed:

These drivers are meant to replace older USB drivers.  
If there are no older drivers installed, attach your USB External drive and go to 6.

1. Attach your PCRW464 USB external to the USB interface of your computer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
