VERSION 2.0.0.0 Drivers - 802.11B Minitar PCI/PCMCIA

These drivers will work with Windows 98SE/Windows ME/Windows 2000/Windows XP/Windows 2003

NOTE!!!! Before installing these drivers, if you have a previous version of Wconfig installed you may need to follow the
Uninstall Instructions below. The previous version drivers do not uninstall correctly which can sometimes cause problems.

If you have not installed any previous version drivers to your system, you can install without having to follow the instructions.

Instructions

1. Uninstall device in device manager

2. Uninstall Wconfig from add/remove programs, or if like me add/remove programs is
broken, run the new wconfig.exe and select remove.

3. Make sure Wconfig isn’t open, and then delete it from program files

4. Make sure the driver file from system32/drivers/ is gone, it’s something like
   wxxx11g.sys

5. Open RegEdit (please be very careful with this function!)

6. Search for "WLAN" and delete pretty much every dir you can with a WLAN reference

7. Search for "11g" and again delete what you can with an 11g reference.
(if you have other, working wireless cards then be careful with their registry keys)
With RegEdit, please be careful as deletion of wrong registry keys can cause system
   damage.

8. Restart the computer

9. When windows detects network controller or even identifies it as the WLAN 802.11
just cancel the driver install prompt.

10. Run the new Wconfig.exe

11. Restart

12. When device is found, choose to locate driver yourself, and select the 2.0
driver (on one of my machines it still had 1.7.0.0 and 2.0.0.0). Continue with the
XP warnings if you get them.

Now device should be installed and working properly and saying driver is 2.0.0.0 in
both device manager and Wconfig. Setup the Ad-Hoc connections as per normal and it
should now work.

If you have difficulties with the drivers not installing please email support@minitar.com

These drivers resolve Ad-Hoc issues mainly but have also been shown in testing to improve signal quality.
