1. Automatically installed Software
When installing Windows version of the Epson Link2 program, the following software will be installed also.
  Windows Media Format 9 Runtime
  Microsoft DirectX9.0c

2. Quick Time Player functions used in Epson Link2.
Epson Link2 is using some of Applefs Quick Time Player functions so it is necessary to work the Quick Time Player correctly to be able to use all Epson Link2 functions on a Windows environment.

Epson Link2 is using some Quick Time functions* for:
  - Decoding ISO MPEG-4 video or H.264 video codec.
  - Converting H.264 video codec into MP4. (ISO MPEG-4 + AAC)
  - Converting ISO MPEG-4 into MP4 (MPEG-4 + AAC) when ISO MPEG-4 files cannot be played on the viewer.
  - Acquiring file information:
    Playing length and codec information for Video files (MP4, P4V and MOV). 
    Playing length and audio file information for Audio files (M4A). 
   (Visit the Apple web site for information on other Quick Time functions operations.)
* These functions are only for files supported by the Quick Time Player.

3. The Quick Time Player and Windows Vista.
As of 28 FEB 2007, Apple has not released any official information on the Quick Time Player compatibility with Windows Vista
Seiko Epson is currently checking if the Quick Time Player version that is installed together with Epson Link2 works without any problem on Windows Vista.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
