  Introduction
  ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
       The Cardware utilities are supplied by Award and Ventura.

       To use the LanModem Ethernet/Fax/Modem card with
       the Cardware software requires no further intervention.

       When the card is inserted it will beep. Use CARDCHEK.EXE to
       check the card has been configured correctly (look at the
       "PCMCIA Hardware" option).

  Getting Started
  ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
       Older versions (dated before 1/7/93)
       ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
       Run the 'PC Card Control for Windows' program under Windows.
	If Windows is not installed, edit the CARDWARE.INI file as
	indicated at the end of this section.

       Make sure the LanModem card is inserted into one of your PC's sockets.

       Run 'PC Card Control for Windows' from the Cardware sub-directory.

       Press 'OK' buttons on any card detect errors until you get to the
	main menu.

       Select the 'Cards' option and choose 'Edit'.

       Select Socket A (or wherever the LanModem Card is located) and
	press Enter. If you already have a device in the Defined box
        called LanModem then skip the next 7 steps.

       Select 'New Device' under the 'Defined' devices box.
       Edit the new device to be named 'LanModem'.
       Select IO range 1 Base(Hex) = 300, Length = 32 (16 bit).
       Select IO range 2 Base(Hex) = 2F8, Length = 8  (8 bit).
       Do not alter Mem range 1 or 2.
       Select IRQ level 3. And OK to make changes.
       Back on the 'Edit card' screen, highlight the 'LanModem' device
	in the defined devices box.

       Transfer the LanModem to the 'Associated' box with the 'Include'
	command.

       Select OK to complete editting and return to main screen.

       If the LanModem card is not graphically depicted, choose 'Card'
        and 'Reconfigure' the socket which contains the LanModem card.

       If the card is still not configured exit Windows and check the
	CARDWARE.INI file in the CARDWARE sub-directory has had the
	following changes made:

   CARDWARE.INI
   ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ
   [Cards]
   NumberOfRecords=1
   1=Intelligent LanModem, 13, 6, -1,PCMCIAs, LanModem

   [SpecificAssociations]
   NumberOfRecords=1
   1=6

   [LogicalDevices]
   NumberOfRecords=6
   ;name, memBase, memSize, IOBase, IOSize, IRQ, IO2Base, IO2Size, Type, mem2Base, mem2Size, flags
   6=LanModem, 0X0, 0X0, 0X300, 0X20, 0X3, 0X2F8, 0X8, 0X0, 0X0, 0X0, 0X0

   ;Note that the 'NumberOfxxx' numbers may vary from those shown here.
   ;Ensure also that the 'resources' section in the CardWare.ini file has
   ;requested the system resources for the Gold Card. This should include
   ;the line as follows:

   [Resources]
   I/O=0X300,0X20,E,10

       Then whenever you insert the LanModem Card it will automatically be
	configured by the Award software.

       If you still have problems with CARDWARE software try replacing
        your CARDWARE.INI file with the one supplied on the LanModem Card
	Drivers Disk.
