The Dta1xxNw driver is a network driver for DekTec's DTA-1XX series of PCI cards.
Currently the driver provides support for the following cards:
 - DTA-160   (GigE TS-over-IP + 3 ASI Ports for PCI Bus)
 - DTA-2160  (GigE TS-over-IP + 3 ASI Ports for PCI Express Bus)

To install this driver, perform the following steps:
 - Compile the driver (type "make" in the directory containing the makefile);
 - Install the driver (type "make install" in the directory containing the
   makefile).
   
NOTE: MAKE SURE THE 'KERNEL_DIR' DEFINE IN THE MAKEFILE SPECIFIES THE CORRECT
      PATH TO THE KERNEL SOURCES.  IF THE SPECIFIED PATH DOES NOT INCLUDE THE
      KERNEL SOURCES, BUT ONLY THE 'USER' SOURCES THE COMPILER MIGHT GENERATE
      THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE: "#warning Using kernel headers in userspace"

- 4. Usage Instructions

To be able to use this network driver, the Dta1xx driver must be installed and 
loaded. See the README file of the Dta1xx driver for intalling the Dta1xx driver.
If the Dta1xx driver is loaded, the network driver can be started using the 
Dta1xxNwInit script.

  "sh ./Dta1xxNwInit start"    Load the network driver.

  "sh ./Dta1xxNwInit stop"     Unload the network driver.

When the Dta1xxNw driver is loaded, and a DTA-160/2160 card is found a new network
devices is created. The device name for the network card is dynamically
generated and starts with "eth0" for the first network card. 
The second will be "eth1", etc. 

The network driver uses the Linux network stack, so the normal linux network 
functions can be used for enabling and configuring the network driver. 

After the driver is loaded you can enable the network interface manually by
using the standard linux utilities like ipconfig or ip.
E.g. for enabling eth0 with a static IP-address of 192.168.10.10 execute the
following command: "ipconfig eth0 192.168.10.10 up".

For using a dynamic IP-address use a program such as dhclient.
E.g. "dhclient eth0"
