Identification If you have a computer listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section and are running Windows XP, install this driver. Installation After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file (D00771-001-001.exe), files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\D00771-001-001 folder on the hard drive. 1. From the Start menu, click Run. 2. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\D00771-001-001\Setup.exe. Click OK. 3. Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the installation. Removal 1. Open Control Panel. *From the Microsoft Windows XP default Start menu, click Control Panel. *From the classic Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs. *If in Category View, click Add or Remove Programs. *If in Classic View, double-click Add or Remove Programs. 3. In the Add or Remove Programs window, click REALTEK GbE & FE Ethernet PCI NIC Driver, and then click Remove. 4. Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the removal process. Troubleshooting If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
