Identification You can find the firmware version through Nero by clicking Burn a CD or data DVD from the Programs list and then selecting Nero Info Tool. Nero runs a small program and then displays the information of the drive. The firmware version is listed on the Drive Tab near the top right. Installation 1. After you have downloaded and double-click the firmware update file (VSOMWIN.exe), the files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\VSOMWIN directory on the hard drive. 2. From the Start menu, click Run. 3. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\VSOMWIN\VSOMWIN.exe. Click OK. 4. Follow the onscreen directions and then restart the computer. Troubleshooting If you have difficulties installing this update, download the file again, and then ensure that all instructions in this document are followed. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
