Before You Get Started

1. Introduction -----------------------------------------------------

  Thank you for using Canon IJ Network Scan Utility.
  This product allows you to scan image data into this computer using 
  the operation panel of the scanner via the network.

2. Product Contents -------------------------------------------------

  This product includes the following items.

  Canon IJ Network Scan Utility
    Use this application to scan image data into this computer using 
    the operation panel of the scanner via the network.

  Uninstaller
    This deletes unnecessary files related to Canon IJ Network Scan Utility.

  Canon IJ Network Scan Utility ReadMe (readme.txt)
    This file. It provides important information about Canon IJ 
    Network Scan Utility.
    When you are finished with installation, select [Start]-
    [(All) Programs]-[Canon IJ Network Utilities]-[Canon IJ Network Scan Utility]
    -[Canon IJ Network Scan Utility ReadMe] to display 
    the contents of this file.

Setup using Canon IJ Network Scan Utility

1. Starting Canon IJ Network Scan Utility -----------------------------------

  To start Canon IJ Network Scan Utility, follow the procedures below.

  1. Select [Start]-[(All) Programs]-[Canon IJ Network Utilities]-[Canon IJ Network 
     Scan Utility]-[Canon IJ Network Scan Utility].
     Canon IJ Network Scan Utility will start and search for the printers 
     that can be set up.

     Note:
     - You can also start the program by double-clicking 
       "C:\Program Files\Canon\Canon IJ Network Scan Utility\CNMNSUT.EXE."


2. Configuring settings ---------------------------------

  Right-click Canon IJ Network Scan Utility in the notification area of the 
  taskbar, then select [Settings...]. The [Canon IJ Network Scan Utility] 
  dialog box appears. Select the check box of the scanner you want to use, 
  and then click [OK].
  If you plan to scan the image into this computer using the operation panel
  of the scanner via the network, right-click Canon IJ Network Scan Utility 
  in the notification area of the taskbar and check that [Disable Canon IJ 
  Network Scan Utility] is displayed.
  If the scanner you want to use is not displayed, click [Help] and read 
  the content.


3. Exiting Canon IJ Network Scan Utility ------------------------------------

  Right-click Canon IJ Network Scan Utility in the notification area of the 
  taskbar, then select [Exit].

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
