Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install the NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller driver for the K8MC51G motherboard.


Identification

This BIOS can be installed on a K8MC51G motherboard, part number 105554.  This motherboard is used in eMachines T3304, T3410, T3312, D3315, D3415, T3106, T3308, W3107, H3304, H3106, H3308, and L3005 computers.


Installation

1.  Download the file to the desktop.

2.  On the desktop, double-click the K8MC51GMBD.exe file.  The needed files extract to the C:\Cabs\K8MC51GMBD folder.

3.  From the Start menu, click Run.

4.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\K8MC51GMBD\Setup.exe.  Click OK.

5.  In the NVIDIA Windows nForce Drivers dialog box, click Next.  

6.  In the NVIDIA Windows nForce Drivers dialog box, verify that NVIDIA SMBus Driver, NVIDIA Ethernet Driver, and NVIDIA IDE Driver are selected, and then click Next.

7.  Drivers are installed.

8.  In the NVIDIA Windows nForce Drivers dialog box, click Next.  

9.  In the Install NVIDIA IDE SW driver dialog box, click Yes.

10.  In the NVIDIA Windows nForce Drivers dialog box, select the desired option.  Selecting Yes installs the NVIDIA Firewall and ForceWare Network Access Manager.

Note:  If you select to install the NVIDIA Firewall and ForceWare Network Access Manager, additional screens appear.  Follow the onscreen prompts to install the software.

11.  In the NVIDIA Windows nForce Drivers dialog box, click Finish.  The computer restarts and installation is complete.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.

3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, select NVIDIA Drivers, and then click Change/Remove.

4.  In the Remove NVIDIA Components dialog box, select the appropriate option to remove the desired component and then click Remove.

5.  The driver files are removed.

6.  In the NVIDIA Uninstall dialog box, click Yes to restart.  


Troubleshooting

If you have difficulties installing this update, download the file again, and then verify that all instructions in this document are followed.

This is the first release of the K8MC51G motherboard network and chipset driver.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
