Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install the VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP video driver.


Installation

1.  Download the file to the desktop.

2.  On the desktop, double-click the D00416-001-002.exe file.  The needed files expand to the C:\Cabs\D00416-001-002 folder.

3.  From the Start menu, click Run.

4.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\D00416-001-002\Setup.exe.  Click OK.

5.  In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

6.  In the Start Copying Files dialog box, click Next.

7.  In the Setup Complete dialog box, click Yes, I want to restart my computer now, and then click Finish.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.

3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click UniChrome Pro IGP Display Driver and Utilities, and then click Change/Remove.

4.  In the S3 Uninstall dialog box, click Yes.

5.  The computer restarts.

6.  In the Remove Programs From Your Computer dialog box, click OK. 


Troubleshooting

If you have difficulty installing the new driver, download the file again, and then perform the installation steps.

This is the initial release of the driver.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
