Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to upgrade to BIOS version A7207NE7.117 for the MS-7207 motherboard.


Identification

This BIOS can be installed on a MS-7207 motherboard, part number 105551.


Installation

The BIOS should be flashed if:

1.  You are updating to a newer BIOS revision.

2.  A technician has told you to flash or re-flash the computer.


Steps to flash or re-flash the computer using a CD burner drive:

1.  The MS-7207.nrg file is a CD image. Double click the MS-7207.nrg file in the C:\Cabs\MS-7207BIOS folder to launch Nero CD burning software and create the bootable CD. 

2.  After creating the CD, place the CD in the CD/DVD drive, and then restart the computer.

3.  At the menu press 1 to select Flash BIOS.

4.  The BIOS flash process runs automatically.  Do not press any keys or turn off the computer during this process.

5.  When the flash is complete, an A:\> prompt will appear.  Restart the computer.

6.  Press the F2 key to enter the CMOS Setup Utility.

7.  In the CMOS Setup Utility, highlight Load Optimized Defaults, and then press ENTER.

8.  Select OK and press ENTER to select Load Optimized Defaults.

9.  In the CMOS Setup Utility, highlight Save & Exit Setup, and then press ENTER.

10.  Select OK and press ENTER to Save to CMOS and EXIT.


Steps to flash or re-flash the computer using a floppy disk drive or bootable USB flash drive:

1.  Copy all of the files except MS-7207.nrg and readme.txt from the C:\Cabs\MS-7207BIOS folder to a blank floppy disk or a USB flash drive. 

2.  Restart the computer with the floppy disk/USB flash drive plugged in.

3.  At the menu press 1 to select Flash BIOS.

4.  The BIOS flash process runs automatically.  Do not press any keys or turn off the computer during this process.

5.  When the flash is complete, an A:\> prompt will appear.  Restart the computer.

6.  Press the F2 key to enter the CMOS Setup Utility.

7.  In the CMOS Setup Utility, highlight Load Optimized Defaults, and then press ENTER.

8.  Select OK and press ENTER to select Load Optimized Defaults.

9.  In the CMOS Setup Utility, highlight Save & Exit Setup, and then press ENTER.

10.  Select OK and press ENTER to Save to CMOS and EXIT.


Removal

Because a computer must have a BIOS to operate, there is no removal process.  The BIOS cannot be removed after it has been upgraded.


Troubleshooting

If you have trouble flashing the BIOS, try the process again following the steps listed in the Installation section of this document.  If you are still unable to flash the BIOS, verify that you are actually attempting to flash the BIOS on an MS-7207 motherboard.  If this process still fails, contact technical support.


Reason for Update

This is the latest BIOS available for the MS-7207 motherboard.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
