Identification The eMachines multimedia keyboard has special keys in addition to the keys found on standard 104 keyboards. These special keys are programmed to control specific functions, such as controlling the sound volume, opening the default Internet browser, opening e-mail software, and so forth. The special key functions are programmed by this driver software. The eMachines keyboard part number is located on the label on the rear of the keyboard. This driver is only for use with the eMachines models identified in the Applicable Part Numbers section of this document. Installation 1. Download the file to the desktop. 2. On the desktop, double-click the D00209-001-001.exe file. The needed files are expanded to the C:\Cabs\D00209-001-001 folder. 3. From the Start menu, click Run. 4. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\D00209-001-001\keyboard_em_1.25.exe. Click OK. 5. The multimedia keyboard driver installs. Removal 1. From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon. 3. In the Add or Remove Programs window, click Multimedia Keyboard Driver, and then click Change/Remove. 4. In the Confirm Uninstall dialog box, click OK. 5. In the InstallShield Wizard dialog box, click Finish. Troubleshooting If you have difficulty installing the new driver, download the file again, and then perform the installation steps. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
