Overview ============ The PC Card Manager is a utility to - Copy files to PC Cards - Copy PC Card contents to files - Compare PC Card with file(s) - Compute checksum over PC Card (regions) - Linear FLASH: Erase Card / Blank Check - Perform a surface scan on ATA cards - Format SRAM- or ATA PC Cards with FAT file system - Socket Status - Analyze PC Card (detect type/size) - Edit PC Cards (hex-editor) PCM is completely format independed. PC Cards are treated as a binary array of bytes. PCM handles SRAM, linear FLASH and ATA (FLASH and hard disks). PC Card type and size are detected automatically whenever possible. 2.) Requirements ================ Operating-System PCM has been tested on the operating systems: - Windows 2000 / XP / VISTA PCM will not work with non-Microsoft or 16-bit operating systems. Drivers A CSM PC Card driver supporting the IoCtl32 API is required. At this time, the following products are available: - OmniDrive Professional - OmniDrive USB Professional - OmniDrive USB2 Professional - SoftDrive Win 95/98 - MEL-PC/32 - SoftDrive Win 2000 - SoftDrive Professional As of V3.0, PCM can operate on physical drives, even if there is no CSM PC Card driver available. See PCM help for more information about this feature. 3.) PCM Shipping Contents ========================= PCM ships as a single setup file SETUP.EXE. The setup contains the PCM executable and the windows HTML-help file. NOTE Win95 users may need to install the HTML-Help Viewer. The viewer is available for free from Microsoft. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
