Overview  

This document describes the steps necessary to install the Windows XP nVidia Gforce driver for the computer hardware listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below.


Identification  

If you have a computer with hardware listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section and are running Windows XP, install this driver.


Installation

After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file D00765-001-001.exe, files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\D00765-001-001 folder on the hard drive.

1.  From the Start menu, in the Start run field, type: C:\Cabs\D00765-001-001\Setup.exe, and then press ENTER.

2.  Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the installation.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, locate the Settings menu and click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.

3.  In the Currently installed programs menu locate the nVidia Gforce program. Highlight the program by clicking on it and choose Remove. 

4.  Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the removal.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
