Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install and configure the keyboard drivers for the Solo 9550 portable computer.

Identification

If you have a Solo 9550 and are running Windows XP, install these drivers.


Installation

1.  Go to the location on your hard drive where the files were extracted and double-click Setup65.exe to begin the installation.  The default location is C:\cabs\7512024.

2.  In the InstallShield dialog box, click Next.

3.  In the Readme Information dialog box, click Next.

4.  In the Setup Complete dialog box, click Finish.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.

3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click Gateway Multi-Function Keyboard, and then click Change/Remove.

4.  In the Multi-Function Keyboard dialog box, click Yes.

5.  In the next Multi-Function Keyboard dialog box, click Yes to restart your computer.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.


Reason for Update

This is the initial release of the drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
