Identification If you have a Solo 5300 and are running Windows XP, install these display drivers. Installation 1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance. 3. In Performance and Maintenance, click the System icon. 4. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. 5. In Device Manager, double-click Display Adapters, and then double-click S3 Graphics Inc SavageIX. 6. In the S3 Graphics Inc Twister Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver. 7. In the Welcome to the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Install from a list or specific location (advanced), and then click Next. 8. In the next Upgrade Device Driver Wizard dialog box, select Include this location in the search. In the text box, type: C:\cabs\7512718. Click Next. 9. Files copy. 10. In the Completing the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, click Finish. 11. When complete, close Device Manager, and then restart the computer for the changes to take effect. 12. After the computer restarts, in the Display Properties dialog box, verify that the settings are set to 1,024 x 768 resolution and High Color 16-Bit. Removal 1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance. 3. In Performance and Maintenance, click the System icon. 4. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. 5. In Device Manager, double-click Display Adapters, and then double-click S3 Graphics Inc SavageIX. 6. In the S3 Graphics Inc Twister Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall. 7. When complete, close Device Manager. Troubleshooting If you have difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
