Overview

This file is the Keyboard BIOS version 22.09.01 for the Solo 5300 portable computer.


Identification

If you have a Solo 5300 portable computer, upgrade to this Keyboard BIOS.  This Keyboard BIOS is not to be used on any computer other than the Solo 5300.


Installation

1.  Copy the BIOS files from the C:\CABS\7512579 folder to a floppy disk. 

2.  Place the floppy disk in the floppy disk drive, and then restart the computer.

3.  At the A:\ prompt, type: KBDFLASH H8CB91.BIN.  Press the ENTER key.

4.  When the BIOS has been updated, the computer turns off.  Remove the disk from the floppy disk drive, and then turn on the computer.


Removal

The BIOS cannot be removed after it has been upgraded.


Troubleshooting

If the BIOS flash does not work, confirm that you are attempting the flash on a Solo 5300.

This BIOS resolves the following technical support issue:

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
