Overview

These are the display drivers for the Solo 3450 running Windows XP.


Identification

If you have a Solo 3450 and are running Windows XP, install these drivers.


Installation

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.  In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance.

2.  In the Performance and Maintenance window, click the System icon.

3.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.

4.  In Device Manager, double-click Display Drivers, and then double-click S3 Graphics Inc Savage/IX.

5.  In the S3 Graphics Inc Savage/IX Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver.

6.  In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next.

7.  In the next dialog box, perform the following steps.

 a.  Clear the Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM) check box.
 b.  Select the Include this location in the search check box.  
 c.  In the text box, type the location of the driver files.  The default location is C:\cabs\7511990.
 d.  Click Next.

8.  In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, click Finish.

9.  In the S3 Graphics Savage/IX Properties dialog box, click Close.

10.  In the System Settings Change dialog box, click Yes to restart the computer.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.  In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance.

2.  In the Performance and Maintenance window, click the System icon.

3.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.

4.  In Device Manager, double-click Display Drivers, and then double-click S3 Graphics Inc Savage/IX.

5.  In the S3 Graphics Inc Savage/IX Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall.

6.  When complete, close Device Manager.


Troubleshooting

If you have difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.

This is the initial release of the drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
