Overview

These are the Windows XP 802.11 Network drivers for the Solo 1450.


Identification

If you have a Solo 1450 and are running Windows XP, install these drivers.


Installation

1.  On the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance.

3.  In Performance and Maintenance, click the System icon.

4.  In System Properties, click the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button.

5.  In Device Manager, under Other Devices, double-click USB Device.

6.  In the USB Device Properties dialog box, click the Reinstall Driver button.

7.  In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, click the radio button next to Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next.

8.  In the next dialog box, type: C:\CABS\7512348.  Click Next.  

9.  In the next dialog box, click Finish.

10.  In the Actiontec PRISM Wireless Lan USB Card Properties dialog box, click Close.

11.  Close Device Manager

12.  On the Start menu, click Run.

13.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\CABS\7512348\Installer\Setup.exe.  Click OK to begin the installation.

14.  In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

15.  In the License dialog box, click Yes.

16.  In the InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box, click Finish to restart the computer.


Removal

1.  On the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click the System icon.

3.  In System Properties, click the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button.

4.  In Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) next to Network Adapters, and then double-click Actiontec PRISM Wireless LAN USB Card.

5.  In the Actiontec PRISM Wireless LAN USB Card Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click the Uninstall button.

6.  In the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK.  Close Device Manager.

7.  On the Start menu, click Control Panel.

8.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.

9.  In Add or Remove Programs, click to select Actiontec Wireless LAN Adapter, and then click the Change/Remove button.

10.  In the InstallShield Wizard dialog box, click the radio button next to Remove, and then click Next.

11.  In the Confirm File Deletion dialog box, click OK to continue.

12.  In the Maintenance Complete dialog box, click Finish to restart the computer.


Troubleshooting

If you are having problems with your 802.11 wireless driver, try reinstalling it again by following the installation steps listed here.  If the problem persists, try uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it.

This is the initial release of the drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
