Identification If you have a Solo 1450 portable computer, upgrade to this BIOS. Installation The BIOS should be updated or flashed if: 1. You are updating to a newer BIOS revision. 2. A Gateway technician has told you to flash or re-flash the computer. Use the following steps to flash or re-flash the computer. 1. Copy all of the BIOS files from the C:\CABS\9522082 folder to a blank floppy disk. 2. Insert the floppy disk into the floppy disk drive, and then restart the computer. 3. To begin the BIOS flash process, at the A:\ prompt, type: 360100. Press the ENTER key. 4. The computer automatically restarts when the flash is complete. Removal Because a computer must have a BIOS to operate, there is no removal process. Troubleshooting If you have trouble flashing the BIOS, try it again following the steps listed in this document. If you still have difficulty, verify that you are attempting to flash the BIOS on a Solo 1450 portable computer and not any other computer. If this still fails, contact technical support. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
