Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install the AVerMedia AVerTV Tuner Drivers for the Gateway 610 Media Center in Microsoft Windows XP.


Identification

If you have a Gateway 610 Media Center and are running Windows XP, install these drivers.


Installation

1.  From the Start menu, click Run.

2.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\9527052\InstallDriver.exe.
  
3.  In the System Settings Change box, click Yes to restart the system.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.

3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click AVerMedia AVerTV Tuner (Phillips 1236 MK3), and then click Change/Remove.

4.  In the Warning dialog box, click Yes.

5.  In the Restart dialog box, click Yes.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then reinstall the drivers.


Reason for Update

This update resolves and issue found with the HRC cable where it failed to adjust to channel 2.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
