Overview  
 
This document describes the steps necessary to install and configure the Media Center Gaming Plug-in for the Gateway 610 in Microsoft Windows XP.


Identification  

If you have a Gateway 610 computer and are running Windows XP, install this plug-in. 


Installation

After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file (9524873.exe), files are self-extracted and copied into the C:\Cabs\9524873 folder on the hard drive.

1.  From the Start menu, click Run. 

2.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\9524873\pinstall.exe.  

3.  In the MCGSetup dialog box, click Next.

4.  The files are installed.

5.  In the MCGSetup dialog box, click Close.

6.  In the Completed dialog box, click Close.


Removal

There are no removal steps for this plug-in


Troubleshooting

If you have difficulty during or after the software installation, download the file again, and then re-install the software.

This is the initial release of the Media Center Gaming Plug-in.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
