Overview

This firmware update is for DVD drive part number 5501851 and makes the drive part number 5502124 after the update.


Identification

If you have DVD drive part number 5501851, you need to update to this firmware version.


Installation

1.  Copy the files to a bootable floppy disk.  The default location of the files is C:\cabs\5502124.

2.  Start to the floppy disk.

3.  At the A:\ prompt, type: DWL2 2 G540.BIN.  Press the ENTER key.

4.  At the F/W Download Utility For ATPI Drive prompt, press the Y key to continue.

5.  When the program is complete, you return to the A:\ prompt.  Remove the floppy disk from the drive and restart your system.


Reason for Update

This update resolves tech support issue 230426310: CD Ejects When Turning On The Computer.

How To Update Drivers Manually
