Identification If you have a Solo 9100, part number 3500417 or 3500437, and you are unable to read the floppy disk drive in the full docking station, you need to upgrade to this BIOS. Installation 1. Extract or copy BIOS files to a floppy disk. 2. Verify that the system is plugged into A/C. 3. Start to a bootable system disk. 4. Insert the disk with the BIOS upgrade files into the floppy disk drive. If necessary type: A: to switch to the floppy disk drive. 5. Type: NEWBIOS.BAT. Press the ENTER key to start the BIOS flash process. When the Upgrade BIOS Utility opens, press the Y key to continue the flash. After the BIOS has been installed, the system turns itself off or restarts. 6. When the system restarts, press the F2 key to enter the BIOS Setup utility. You may receive a "CMOS CHECKSUM INVALID, DEFAULT VALUES WILL BE LOADED" message. 7. Verify that any previously customized CMOS settings are intact. 8. Move to the EXIT menu screen, select Save Changes & Exit, and then press ENTER. Press ENTER to continue. 9. The system restarts. Remove the floppy disk from the disk drive. Reason for Update This BIOS resolves the issue with the system not being able to read the floppy disk drive in the full docking station. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
