Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install and configure the audio drivers for the Solo 5300 portable computer running Windows XP.


Identification

If you have a Solo 5300 portable computer and are running Windows XP, install these drivers.


Installation

1.  In the C:\Cabs\7512939 folder, double-click Essetup.exe to begin the installation.  

2.  In the Welcome To Allegro Setup dialog box, click Next.

3.  Click Finish to restart the computer.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

3.  In the Add/Remove Programs window, select Synaptics Touchpad, and then click Change/Remove.

4.  In the Confirm File Deletion dialog box, click Yes.

5.  In the next dialog box, click OK to continue the device removal.

6.  In the next dialog box, click OK to complete the device removal.

7.  In the Remove Programs From Your Computer dialog box, click OK.

8.  Close the Add/Remove Programs window, and then close Control Panel.

9.  If prompted to restart the computer, click OK.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
