Overview

This is the battery learning program for the Solo 2300, 2500, and 9100.

Identification

If you have one of the above listed systems, you can run this program to condition and recondition your battery.

Installation

Before running the program, please read the following information:

IMPORTANT

You should be aware that the process of running the Battery learning software
may take as long as 16 hours to complete and the process should not be interrupted
otherwise it will need to be repeated from the beginning (your battery will never be
damaged by this software). Run the test overnight and wait until it says completed
before restarting your computer again.

WARNING

Don't unplug either the AC adapter or battery during the battery learning process.
The process can be stopped if required by pressing Ctrl + C key simultaneously
during the process. The process will have to be fully repeated later.

STEPS TO TAKE

1. Plug battery to main battery slot. With the Solo 9100 two batteries may be plugged
in but due to the extended time required for the process it is recommended to do
   each battery seperately.
2. Plug the AC adapter into the notebook. Ensure power is on. This can be verified by the
system LED on the right being yellow or green.

PROCESS

1. First the program checks the battery's voltage and corrects this if necessary
(Never interupt this process - it may take about one minute).
2. Then the learning program charges main battery.
2. After the main battery is fully charged the program issues a command to
   discharge the main battery.
3. The main battery supplies power to system until it is fully discharged.
4. After 10 minutes, the program reads the full capacity to verify if the learning
   was successful.
5. The program displays a successful completion message after the battery has
been charged to a certain level. It will then continue to fully charge the battery but the
process can be stopped at this stage.
6. If you use the Learning program for Solo 9100 with two batteries installed, the program
will repeat the process on the secondary battery after the first battery learning process
   is completed.
7. To start re-using your notebook simply exit the program using Ctrl + C
and the computer will restart. If it does not restart switch the computer off.

RUNNING THE BATTERY LEARNING PROGRAM

1. Copy all the extracted files to a bootable floppy disk. The default location is C:\CABS\7501801
2. Boot your computer with the disk in the drive.
3. At the A:\ prompt, type 7501801 and press ENTER to launch the program.
4. Follow the on screen prompts to run the program.

Removal

This program doesn't install anything, therefore there is no need to remove the software
