README.TXT Driver File Contents (teac_cdi.exe)

This file is to help in the installation of the 6x and 8x cd-rom driver for the Solo 2100.



 From a MS-Dos prompt you will need to do the following:

1.) Check to see if there is a "CDROM" directory on the hard drive. (To do this type dir /p.)
    If there is no CDROM directory on the hard drive type "MD CDROM" (From the Dos prompt)
    and press enter. This will create the directory for you.

2.) Copy the TEAC_CDI.SYS file to the CD-ROM directory.

3.) Put the following line in the Config.sys file. To do this type "edit config.sys" from
    the Dos prompt.

    DEVICEHIGH=C:\CDROM\TEAC_CDI.SYS /D:CD1

4.) Put the following line in the autoexec.bat file. To do this type "edit autoexec.bat"
    from the Dos prompt.

    C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:CD1 /L:D  (If you are running MS-Dos 6.x use this line)

    C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:CD1 /L:D (If you are running WINDOWS 95 use this line)

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
