Identification If you have a Gateway notebook computer listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below, install this driver. Installation Download the driver file to the desktop, and then perform the following steps. 1. If you have not already done so, locate and double-click the D00461-002-002.exe file that you downloaded from the Internet and execute the file. Files extract to the C:\Cabs\D00461-002-002 folder on your hard drive. 2. From the Start menu, click Run. In the Run folder, type: C:\Cabs\D00461-002-002\Ssetup.exe. Click OK. 3. A Motorola SM56 Modem window displays as the installation begins. 4. A Motorola SM56 UbiSurf software modem installer window prompts you to restart the computer. Click Yes. 5. The computer restarts and the driver installation is complete. Removal 1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs. 3. In the Add or Remove Programs window, click Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem, and then click Change/Remove. 4. In the Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem Uninstall dialog box, click Yes to restart the computer. Troubleshooting Reinstall the driver if complications arise. Reason for Update This is the initial release of the driver. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
