Identification If you have a Gateway M675 notebook computer and are running Windows XP, install these drivers. To see which version of driver you have installed, follow these steps: 1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then double-click the System icon. 3. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager. 4. In Device Manager, under Modems, double-click Agere Systems AC'97 Modem. 5. In the Agere Systems AC'97 Modem Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab. The driver date and version are listed. Installation for Windows XP After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file (9526534.exe), files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\9525517 folder on the hard drive. 1. From the Start menu, click Run. 2. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\9526534\WINXP\Setup.exe. Click OK. 3. In the Modem dialog box, click OK. 4. The driver is installed. Installation for Windows 2000 After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file (9526534.exe), files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\9525517 folder on the hard drive. 1. From the Start menu, click Run. 2. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\9526534\WIN2000\Setup.exe. Click OK. 3. In the Modem dialog box, click OK. 4. The driver is installed. Removal 1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs. 3. In the Add or Remove Programs window, click Agere Systems AC'97 Modem, and then click Change/Remove. 4. In the Warning dialog box, click Yes. 5. In the Restart dialog box, click Yes. Troubleshooting If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers. Reason for Update This is the initial release of the drivers. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
