Overview

These are the display drivers for the Gateway M500.


Identification

If you have a Gateway M500 and are running Windows XP, install these drivers.


Installation

1.  From the Start menu, click Run.

2.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\CABS\9523088\Setup.  Click OK.

3.  In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

4.  In the Complete dialog box, click Finish to restart the computer. 


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance.

3.  In Performance and Maintenance, click the System icon.

4.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.

5.  In Device Manager, double-click Display Adapters, and then double-click NVIDIA GeForce4 420 GO 32M.

6.  In the NVIDIA GeForce4 420 GO 32M Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall.

7.  In the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK.

8.  In the System Settings Change dialog box, click Yes to restart the computer.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
