Identification If you have a Gateway notebook computer listed below and are running Windows XP or Windows 2000, install these drivers. Installation After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file (9523586.exe), files are self-extracted and copied into the C:\Cabs\9523586 folder on the hard drive. 1. From the Start menu, click Run. 2. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\9523586\Setup.exe. Click OK. 4. In the Welcome dialog box, click Next. 5. Files copy and the installation completes automatically. Removal Windows XP 1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs. 3. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, select USB Mass Storage Reader, and then click Change/Remove. 4. In the Welcome dialog box, select Remove and then click Next. 5. In the Confirm Uninstall dialog box, click OK. 6. Files remove. 7. In the Maintenance Complete dialog box, click Finish. Windows 2000 1. From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 3. In the Add/Remove Programs dialog box, select USB Mass Storage Reader, and then click Change/Remove. 4. In the Welcome dialog box, select Remove and then click Next. 5. In the Confirm Uninstall dialog box, click OK. 6. Files remove. 7. In the Maintenance Complete dialog box, click Finish. Troubleshooting If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
