WARNING: 

ONLY LOAD THIS BIOS ON A COLORBOOK 2 DX2-50 OR DX4-100.
LOADING ON ANY OTHER SYSTEM WILL RUIN THE SYSTEM.


Instructions on updating the BIOS if running DOS:

1.  Go to a "C" prompt in DOS and press the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys simultaneously to reboot the system.
2.  When the message "Starting MS-DOS..." is displayed on the LCD screen, press the F5 key.  This will bypass your autoexec.bat and config.sys files, booting the system clean.
3.  Put the floppy disk in drive A, type A: and press enter.
4.  At the "A" prompt, type the word FLASH and press enter.
5.  The system will now begin to update the BIOS.
6.  After the system BIOS is updated, the system will reboot with the updated BIOS.
7.  When the system reboots you may get a message that says "Non-system disk or disk error.  Replace and press any key when ready."  If this occurs, remove the floppy disk from the "A" drive and press enter.
8.  The BIOS should now be successfully installed.

Instructions on updating the BIOS if running "Windows 95":

1.  Turn system On.
2.  When the message "Starting Windows 95..." is displayed on the LCD screen, press the F8 key.
3.  Either choose "Safe mode command prompt only" or "Previous version of MS-DOS".
4.  If  "Previous version of MS-DOS" is selected, when it says "Starting MS-DOS",  press the F5 key.
This will bypass your autoexec.bat and config.sys files, booting the system clean.
5.  Put the floppy disk in drive A, type A: and press enter.
6.  At the "A" prompt, type the word FLASH and press enter.
7.  The system will now begin to update the BIOS.
8.  After the system BIOS is updated, the system will reboot with the updated BIOS.
9.  When the system reboots you may get a message that says "Non-system disk or disk error.  Replace and press any key when ready."  If this occurs, remove the floppy disk from the "A" drive and press enter.
10.  The BIOS should now be successfully installed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
