Overview

This is the sound driver for the Gateway 200ARC.  


Identification  

If you have a Gateway 200ARC and are running Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000, install these drivers.


Installation

Windows XP

1.  The files are extracted to the C:\Cabs\9522224 folder. 

2.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.  

3.  In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then double-click the System icon.  

4.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.  On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

5.  In Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers, double-click SigmaTel C-Major Audio.  If the driver has never been installed, it is listed as PCI Audio device under Other Devices.

6.  In the SigmaTel C-Major Audio Properties dialog box or in the PCI Audio Device Properties dialog box, click the Drivers tab, and then click Update driver.

7.  Click Install the software automatically (Recommended), and then click Next.

8.  Windows identifies the SigmaTel C-Major Audio.  

9.  Click Finish.

Windows 2000

1.  The files are extracted to the C:\Cabs\9522224 folder. 

2.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.  

3.  In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.  

4.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.  On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

5.  In Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers, double-click SigmaTel C-Major Audio.  If the driver has never been installed, it is listed as PCI Audio device under Other Devices.

6.  In the SigmaTel C-Major Audio Properties dialog box or in the PCI Audio Device Properties dialog box, click the Drivers tab, and then click Update driver.

7.  In the Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Next.

8.  Click Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now (Recommended), and then click Next.

9.  Click to clear the Floppy Drive and CD-ROM drives check boxes, and then select the Specify a location check box.  Type the location where you downloaded and extracted the wireless driver files, and then click Next.  The default path of the drivers is C:\Cabs\9522224\ for Windows XP.

9.  Windows identifies the SigmaTel C-Major Audio adapter.  Click Next.

10.  Click Finish.


Removal

In Windows XP

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.  

2.  In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then double-click the System icon.  

3.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.  On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

4.  In Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers, double-click SigmaTel C-Major Audio adapter.  On the Driver tab, click Uninstall. 

In Windows 2000

1.  From the Start menu, point to settings, and then click Control Panel.  

2.  In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.  

3.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.  On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

4.  In Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers, double-click SigmaTel C-Major Audio adapter.

5.  On the Driver tab, click Uninstall. 


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.


Reason for Update

This is the initial release of the drivers.
