Identification If you have a Gateway 450SX4 and are running Windows XP or Windows 2000, install these drivers. Installation 1. The files are extracted to the C:\Cabs\7512425 folder. 2. From the Start menu, point to Programs, Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer. 3. In Windows Explorer, in the C:\Cabs\7512425 folder, double-click Setup.exe. 4. In the Welcome dialog box, click Next. 5. In the Important Information dialog box, click Next. 6. In the Start Copying Files dialog box, click Next. 7. In the Setup Complete dialog box, click Finish. The computer restarts. Removal 1. From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 3. In the Add/Remove Programs window, click Synaptics TouchPad Driver, and then click Change/Remove. 4. In the Synaptics TouchPad Uninstall dialog box, click Yes. 5. When prompted to restart the computer, click Yes. 6. The computer restarts. Troubleshooting If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then reinstall the drivers. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
