Overview  

This document describes the steps necessary to install the fingerprint reader driver and Protector Suite QL for the  
Gateway 450RGH in Windows XP or Windows 2000.


Identification  

If you have a Gateway 450RGH notebook computer and are running either Windows XP or Windows 2000, install this driver.


Installation

After you have downloaded and double-clicked the file (9527764.exe), files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\9527764 folder on the hard drive.

1.  From the Start menu, click Run. 

2.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\9527764\Setup.exe.  Click OK.

3.  In the Protector Suite QL dialog box, click Software Installation.

4.  In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

5.  In the License Agreement dialog box, click I accept, then click next.

6.  In the User Information dialog box, in the User Information area, type the requested information, and then click Next.

7.  In the Destination dialog box, click Next.

8.  In the Ready to Install dialog box, click Next.

9.  Files copy.

10.  Installation is complete.  Click Finish.

11.  In the Must Restart System dialog box, click Yes to restart the computer.


Removal

Windows XP

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.

3.  In the Add/Remove Programs window, select Protector Suite QL 5.1, and then click Change.

4.  In the Application Maintenance dialog box, click Remove, and then click Next.

5.  In the Uninstallation dialog box, click Remove All, and then click Next.

6.  In the next dialog box, click Next.

7.  In the Uninstall Files dialog box, click Finish.

8.  In the Restart dialog box, click Yes.


Windows 2000

1.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.

3.  In the Add/Remove Programs window, select Protector Suite QL 5.1, and then click Change.

4.  In the Application Maintenance dialog box, click Remove, and then click Next.

5.  In the Uninstallation dialog box, click Remove All, and then click Next.

6.  In the next dialog box, click Next.

7.  In the Uninstall Files dialog box, click Finish.

8.  In the Restart dialog box, click Yes.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then  
re-install the drivers.  If the touchpad stops working after removing the driver, restart the computer.
