Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install the GTW V.92 Voice Modem drivers for the Gateway 600 in Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000.


Identification

If you have a Gateway 600, Gateway 450, or Solo 1450  portable computer and are running Windows XP or Windows 2000, install these drivers.


Installation

1.  From the C:\CABS\9520301\Win2k_XP folder, double-click Setup.exe to begin the installation.

2.  In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

3.  In the Setup Complete dialog box, click Finish.


Removal

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.

3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click GTW V.92 Voicemodem, and then click Change/Remove.

4.  In the Confirm Removal dialog box, click OK.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
