Overview 

This is the Windows XP network driver for the computers listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section of this document. 


Installation

1.  From the Start menu, right-click Computer, and then click Manage.

2.  In the left pane, click Device Manager.

3.  In Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) next to Network adapters.

4.  Click Intel(R) 82566MC Gigabit Network Connection, and then from the Action menu, click Update Driver. 

5.  The Hardware Update Wizard displays.  If prompted to connect to Windows Update select No, not at this time and click Next.

6.  Click Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and then click Next.

7.  Uncheck Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM) and check Include this location in the search.  Type or browse to the C:\Cabs\D00763-001-001 folder and then click Next.

8.  Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the installation.


Removal 

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.

3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click to select Intel® PRO Network Connections Drivers and then click Remove.

4.  Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the removal process.


Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty during or after the driver installation, download the file again, and then perform the installation steps for a second time.


Reason for Update 

This is the initial release of the driver.
