This document describes the release notes of the driver setup for 32 bit operating systems

General
*******

This program installs or uninstalls the Hot Plug Enabler Drivers for CardMan 6121. 
It is required that the installer service (msiexec.exe) version 3.1
or higher is already installed on the PC.
The installation of the driver is done by Plug and Play
For Windows all NT based you must have administration rights.

For installation on Windows Vista it is necessary to run the HPCardMan6121_x86.msi file 
from a command shell with administrative privileges.
The Message Window 'Found New Hardware' after first plug-in of the device must
confirmed with 'Locate and install driver software'.

 

Installation
************

To install the driver type the following line on a console window :

msiexec.exe /i HPCardMan6121_x86.msi 


Uninstallation
**************

To uninstall the driver type the following line on a console window :

msiexec.exe /x HPCardMan6121_x86.msi

Q: How can I do a silent installation ?
A: For a standard installation with one CardMan 6121 Hot Plug Enabler start the setup with 

   msiexec.exe /i HPCardMan6121_x86.msi /qn

   If you want install up to 4 CardMan 6121 Hot Plug Enabler use the command

   msiexec.exe /i HPCardMan6121_x86.msi /qn HPE=4

   For an uninstallation use the command

   msiexec.exe /x HPCardMan6121_x86.msi /qn

   For an uninstallation without restart use the command

   msiexec.exe /x HPCardMan6121_x86.msi /qn /norestart

   but it is recommend to restart the before reinstalling the driver

Q: I encounter an error during the installation. What can I do ?
A: Create a logfile. You can do this by submitting the following command

   msiexec.exe /i HPCardMan6121_x86.msi /Lv* YourDriveName:\YourLogFileName.txt

   and send YourLogFileName.txt to

   Support@omnikey.com

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

• Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

• If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

• Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

• Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

• Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

• From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

• Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
