1.0 Overview
------------

For IBM Warp Server, Lan Server and Communication Manager 1.x users,
please also refer to the following:

2.0   Installation Notes
-------------------------
     The following describes how to install Lan Server and Communication
     Manager.

   2.1 Installation notes for IBM Warp Server/Warp Connect users
   -------------------------------------------------------------
        1. In the OS/2 Desktop group, double-click on the "LAN Services
           and Protocol Services" icon.

        2. Double-Click the "Adapters and Protocol Services" icon to enter
           the MPTS configuration process.

        3. Click on the <OK> Button.

        4. Click on the <Configure> button.

        5. Select the "LAN adapters and protocols" option.

        6. Click on the <Configure> button.

        7. Select the "Other adapters ..." option.

        8. Insert the driver diskette into Drive A or B and type the
           driver path:

            A:\<PATH>       Where PATH is the driver directory.
                            Ex: \NDIS2\OS2

        9. Click on the <OK> button.

        10. Select "Billionton 10/100 PCMCIA Ethernet adapter"
            , and then click on the <Add> button.

        11. Select "IBM OS/2 NETBIOS", and then click on the <Add> button.

        12. Select "IBM IEEE 802.2", and then click on the <Add> button.

        13. Click OK.

        14. Click Close.

        15. Click Exit.

        16. Click Exit.

        17. Restart your system.

2.2 Installation notes for IBM LAN SERVER 4.0 users
---------------------------------------------------

        1. In the OS/2 Desktop group, double-click on the LAN Server MPTS
           icon.

        2. Click on the <Configure> button.

        3. Select the "LAN adapters and protocols" option.

        4. Click on the <Configure> button.

        5. Select the "Other adapters ..." option.

        6. Insert the driver diskette in Drive A or B and type the
           driver path:

            A:\<PATH>       Where PATH is the driver directory.
                            Ex: \NDIS2\OS2

        7. Click on the <OK> button.

        8. Select "Billionton 10/100 PCMCIA Ethernet adapter"
           , and then click on the <Add> button.

        9. Select "IBM OS/2 NETBIOS", and then click on the <Add> button.

        10. Select "IBM IEEE 802.2", and then click on the <Add> button.

        11. Click OK.

        12. Click Close.

        13. Click Exit.

        14. Reboot your system.


2.3 Installation note for IBM LAN SERVER 3.0 users
--------------------------------------------------

        1. Install IBM OS/2 into your system, if not yet installed.

        2. Insert the NTS/2 Adapter & Protocol Support Disk in Drive A.

        3. Execute the LAPs program.

        4. Select "Install", and then specify the target drive.

        5. Select "Install" again and insert the driver diskette in
           Drive A.

        6. Select "Configure".

        7. Select "Billionton 10/100 PCMCIA Ethernet adapter"
           , and then click on the <Add> button.

        8. Select "IBM OS/2 NETBIOS", and then click on the Add button.

        9. Select "IEEE 802.2", and then click on the Add button.

        10. Click OK.

        11. Click Exit.

        12. Click Continue.

        13. Reboot your system.

        14. Your CONFIG.SYS and PROTOCOL.INI files should reflect your
            card setup:

        15. Install the LAN Server or Requester program.  For information,
            please refer to your IBM LAN Server"Planning and Installation"
            manual.


2.4 Installation note for IBM Communication Manager users
---------------------------------------------------------

        1. Install IBM Communication Manager

        2. Copy the LNAX100.OS2 and LNAX100.NIF
           in the driver diskette to the C:\IBMCOM\MACS directory

        3. Select the LNAX100 adapter

        4. Choose the appropriate protocols

        5. Check that the CONFIG.SYS file includes the following line:

           DEVICE = C:\IBMCOM\MACS\LNAX100.OS2 

        6. Restart your computer

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
