This document is described of notice about TOSHIBA SD Memory Card Format.

(1)	Require Administrator permission(Windows 2000/ XP)
To run TOSHIBA SD Memory Card Format, always logon as gAdministratorh permission user. If you are other than an administrative user, you will not able to format your SD memory card.

(2)	Will not allow Stand-by, Hibernation or Log-off during format process.
While the SD memory card is in format process, actions such as Stand-by, Hibernationor Log off can not be executed. To do these operations, please wait till the format has completed.

(3)	External SD slot device are not supported.
TOSHIBA SD Memory Card Format is designed for use on TOSHIBA notebook computers with SD slot. External SD slot devices are not supported even if it is shown in the combo box.

(4)	Can not format the protected area in the SD memory.
TOSHIBA SD Memory Card Format can not format the protected area in the SD memory card. If you wish to format the protected area, please use the application which supports copyright protection.

(5)	About write-Protect switch
When formatting the SD memory card, make sure to unlock the write-protect switch. You can not format the SD memory card while this switch is locked.

(6)	About Explorer
Occasionally, if the SD memory card is opened by the Explorer, formatting the card may not work by TOSHIBA SD Memory Card Format. In that case, please close the SD memory card drive opened by the Explorer and try again.

(7)	Formatting time
The format time is differs depending on the capability and the manufacturer of the SDmemory card.

(8)	After Formatting
There is a case that the screen will display gPlease stop a SD memory card then insert the card againh. At this time, please stop and eject the SD memory card and insert again. If you donft so that , you can not use the SD card correctly.

(9)	Stopping the SD memory card after Formatting
If you have formatted the SD card before Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, you may fail to stop or eject your SD memory card. If you have encountered this phenomenon, please restart the PC.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
