TOSHIBA MEDIA PLAYER V1.7

* Introduction
This file contains additional information about TOSHIBA MEDIA PLAYER that is not
described in the Help file.

* Overview
The TOSHIBA MEDIA PLAYER program plays sound files on PCs. It can play any
Windows-recognized sound file (wav, midi, mp3, etc.), and also music CDs.

Depending on your system, some features of the program won't work if the necessary
hardware is not installed. For instance, if your PC does not have a CD drive, you won't
be able to play CDs.

* Before Starting
TOSHIBA MEDIA PLAYER runs under Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Me,
and Windows2000, and requires Microsoft DirectX 6.1 or later, and Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.0 or later.

* Additional Information
The application's windows and icons may not appear correctly if your display settings are
configured for less than 256 colors.

Some power-saving settings reduce power consumption by reducing CPU performance.
In such a setting, sound quality may be degraded.

Some applications may cause the sound playback to "skip". If this happens, close
TOSHIBA MEDIA PLAYER until you're finished with the other application.

Some applications that use the sound system may not operate while TOSHIBA MEDIA
PLAYER is running. If this happens, close TOSHIBA MEDIA PLAYER until you're
finished with the other application.

Also, other applications that use the sound system may prevent TOSHIBA MEDIA
PLAYER from being able to use the sound system at the same time.

Some music file formats do not support included song and artist names. When you play
these file types, the file name will appear on the display instead.

If a file is dragged and dropped to the TOSHIBA MEDIA PLAYER panel, the file will
start playing, aborting any play list that was in progress. To get back to play list mode,
quit and restart the program.

If a sound file longer than 99h 59m 59s is played, the display will show " -- : -- : -- ".

Sound data files that were recorded with a variable bit rate may not show the elapsed time
correctly.

When you change the drive used to play CDs (using the Options menu), the change will
be effective the next time you restart TOSHIBA MEDIA PLAYER.

If the Next Track button is pressed continuously during Intro Playback, the track number
may not be displayed correctly.

If the application is closed while playing an AVI file, the windows position of the AVI
playback window is not saved.

If you fast-forward a play file arranged CD track and file by turns, track number might
not be displayed correctly.

If the corresponding CD is not inserted when the play file of only CD tracks is played on
repeat mode, the play file may be carried out twice.

If you change the Windows Desktop Theme while TOSHIBA MEDIA PLAYER is
running, the display panel may not display normally. To fix the display, close TOSHIBA
MEDIA PLAYER and restart it.
