Driver Installation for SCO OpenServer (Release 5)
        ==================================================

The following instructions are for loading KTI Networks' ET32/Px
adapters with SCO OpenServer (Release 5).

   1. Start X Windows

     (1) Boot your machine with SCO OpenServer (Release 5) and login
         as root.

     (2) Start X Windows by typing "startx &". If your system can't run X
Windows, you can run SCOADMIN instead to load and configure the
         driver, the procedure is similar.

   2. Install the software package on the floppy

     (1) Open "Software Manager" by double clicking its icon.

     (2) Go to "Software" --> "Install New".

     (3) It asks "What host do you want to install from ?", Select local
         machine.

     (4) A new window pops up to let you select media device, please
insert the adapter's driver disk, then select "Floppy Disk
Drive 0 (or 1)" depending on your system.

     (5) It displays "Installing: KTI ET32 PCI Adapter Driver
(Version 2.0.0a). Do you want a FULL or PARTIAL installation",
         select "FULL".

     (6) After the software is installed, "KTI ET32 PCI Adapter Driver"
should be listed with other installed software.

   3. Install the device driver

     (1) Open "System Administration" --> "Networks" -->"Network
         Configuration Manager".

     (2) Goto "Hardware" --> "Add new LAN adapter". SCO will detect and
list KTI ET32 PCI adapter automatically. Highlight it and select
         "Continue".

   4. Install protocols

After the driver is configured, SCO will let you add protocols to
it one by one. If you want to access Novell server from SCO, both
"SCO IPX/SPX" and "SCO Gateway for Netware" are required, also
make sure the network number for "SCO IPX/SPX" matches the related
      configuration in your Novell server.

   5. Re-link the kernel

When you exit from "Network Configuration Manager", you will be
asked if you want to re-link the kernel now. Choose yes, set the
new kernel to boot by default, and rebuild the kernel environment.

   Note:

     (1) Each time when the system reboots, it displays one line for each
ET32 PCI adapter similar to this:

       device address vector dma comment
       ...
       %ket 0xE800-0xe81F 10 - KTI ET32PCI 00:40:f6:f8:80:d7
       ...

If the comment is "NO KTI BOARD PRESENT", you need to check the
adapter and driver again, make sure they are installed correctly.

     (2) If you have more than one ET32 PCI adapter installed in the
system and you want to remove one, we suggest you remove all
adapters first in "Network Configuration Manager", then reinstall
         again.
