LEXMARK EMBEDDED SCAN TO NETWORK
ReadMe for version 1.5.1

1.  OVERVIEW

    This ReadMe file pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK EMBEDDED 
    SCAN TO NETWORK application for multifunction printers (MFPs).

    Lexmark Embedded Scan to Network is an embedded Java application that is 
    installed as a flash file on multifunction printers (MFPs) that support 
    the Lexmark Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF). Scan to Network enables 
    users to scan documents to a network, with network destinations chosen by
    the administrator.


2.  REQUIREMENTS

    a.  The Embedded Scan to Network package v1.5.1.0.

    b.  A multifunction printer that supports the application. 

        Supported MFPs include:

        *  X642e, X644e, X646e, X646dte
           *  Required firmware level:  LC2.MC.P307a or higher

        *  X646ef
           *  Required firmware level:  LC2.TI.P305a or higher

        *  X782e
           *  Required firmware level:  LC2.TO.P305a or higher 

        *  X850e, X852e, X854e
           *  Required firmware level:  LC4.BE.P450 or higher

        *  X940e, X945e
           *  Required firmware level:  LC.BR.P060 or higher


3.  PACKAGE CONTENTS 

    The following files and publications are included in Scan to Network
    v1.5.1.

    a.  snf-1.5.1.fls           The Scan to Network solution   
    b.  snf-1.5.1_desc.xml      The MVP descriptor file
    c.  AdminGuide.pdf          The Administrator's Guide
    d.  ReadMe.txt              (this file)

    Language-specific files for this application can be found in a sub-
    directory named for each supported language.


4.  LIMITATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY OF THE RELEASE

    a.  Configuration files of this release are not compatible with those of
        earlier versions of this product. Therefore, the exported 
        configuration file from an earlier release of Scan to Network cannot 
        be imported into this version.

    b.  Supported operating systems for destinations:
        *  Note:  The Microsoft Windows operating systems listed below are
                  32-bits.

        The following Microsoft Windows Server 2003 configurations are 
        supported.
          *  Standalone Distributed File System (DFS)
          *  Domain-based DFS
          *  Domain-based DFS with one child domain used for authentication

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
