Device driver in Windows Vista can not be installed with setup.exe because lack of privilege. Here are the suggestion to facilitate device driver installation in Windows Vista.
 
1. Put attached device driver files (uncompressed) in the CD. The suggested path are:
    \driver\vista_x64
    \driver\vista_x86
2. Describe the instructions below in the Installation Guide:
    (a) For user connects to Internet: Our device driver has already put on Windows Update. Vista will automatically search Windows Update for proper driver. (CD useless in this case)
    (b) For user does not connect to Internet: Vista will hint user puts the CD in. After that, Vista will automatically serch CD for proper driver.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
