readme.txt Driver File Contents (7508595.exe)

After formatting or deleting and re-installing Windows 9x, the proper *.inf file is not available to setup the monitor correctly. In order to install the correct monitor, the Monitor.inf file needs to be downloaded from the Web site. The Monitor.inf file allows the type of monitor to be selected.

A .icm file contains a color system profile for a particular program or device such as a monitor, color printer, or scanner. This profile is used by the color management software. It translates color data from one device to another based on an independent color space. The result is consistent color traveling from the scanner, monitor, software packages, and then to the printed color output. The profile and the color management system provide What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG).

A monitor can or cannot use an ICM file depending on these factors:

     The operating system
     The video driver
If a color profile for the specific monitor exists

Windows 9x support Image Color Matching (ICM). Graphics programs benefit from ICM only if they have built-in support, such as PhotoShop, PageMaker, and Corel.

Perform the following steps to install a monitor color profile:

1.On your screen, locate and click the Start button. From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2.In Control Panel, double-click the Display icon.

3.In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.

4.In the Settings tab, click Advanced Properties.

5.In the Advanced Properties dialog box, click the Color Management tab then click Add and select the file that matches the monitor from the System Restoration CD.
